Safety Policy
Online and in-person lessons
NearbyTeachers helps users connect, communicate, book lessons and process payments. NearbyTeachers does not supervise lessons or control user conduct during online or in-person meetings.
In-person meetings
Users are responsible for evaluating participants and choosing an appropriate, lawful and reasonably safe meeting place. For minors, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for approving the teacher, location and level of supervision.
Online lessons
Keep lesson links private, use the platform’s booking and messaging tools, and do not send card details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information through chat.
Respectful conduct
Harassment, threats, discrimination, sexual misconduct, fraud, exploitation, violence and other unlawful or unsafe behavior are prohibited. Users should report serious concerns through NearbyTeachers and may be restricted while a report is reviewed.
Emergencies and incidents
NearbyTeachers is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services or appropriate authorities immediately if an accident, immediate safety concern or unlawful incident occurs, then report the incident to NearbyTeachers.
Responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, users remain responsible for their own conduct and lesson arrangements. Nothing in this policy excludes liability or legal duties that cannot legally be excluded.
